Smoke Alarms

Most of us know by know that having hard wired Smoke Alarms in our homes in mandatory.  But did you know that a smoke alarm should be replaced after 10 years?

You can also get smoke alarms now with inbuilt lithium battery, this will eliminate the need to change the battery each year.

If you’re not sure how old your smoke detector is, the qualified staff at M.J.Harris Electrical can come out and test your alarm and ensure it’s working as it should.

Remember, smoke alarms do save lives and it’s important that they are in the correct locations in your home.

Photoelectric Smoke Alarms are also now available, they are more sensitive to smouldering fires and less prone to go off in kitchen areas than regular, ionisation smoke alarms.
